The trips takes you through the incredible primate expeditions by visiting some of the world’s dense forests as you have your way through the jungle to meet the gentle mountain Gorillas and the Chimpanzees that are 98.9% human DNA. This won’t be all about primates we add a touch of the savanna experience en-route to add up to the rainforest experience.
You to see the chimps in Kibale forest national park and the Gorillas in the Bwindi impenetrable forest national park which will be accompanied by lots of other forest species such as colobus monkeys, baboons, mangabey’s, vervet monkeys and a lot of forest birds. You will also have a chance to visit the savanna national parks and try to spot the African big 4 of the 5 that rule the jungle that is lions, leopards, elephants and buffalos etc.
This trip goes around some of the most scenic parts of the country that will give unending views of Africa’s biggest mountain range that is 70km long and 30km wide. Our representative will pick you either from the hotel or airport and transfer to Kibale forest national park which is the primate capital of Africa with 13 different primate species including a big number of chimpanzees which makes it the perfect destination of this amazing activity. Depending on your time of arrival, you may decide to do a swamp walk in the nearby Bigodi swamp or community walk to learn about the Bakiga and Batooro cultures
After breakfast, you transfer to the Kyanchu briefing area where you will get a briefing from the park rangers on how the chimp trekking activity will be handled. You will be divided into small groups of 6-8 people and hit the jungle for a medium hike through the tropical rain forests in search of the chimps.
After the tracking you will have lunch and transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park for an evening boat trip on the famous Kazinga channel that connects lakes George and Edward that will reward you with amazing sights of the African savanna mammals such as elephants, buffalos, hippos, antelopes, leopard, and lions while on a short drive to the hotel
Early morning safari drive in the savanna plains of Queen Elizabeth and transfer to the south of the park that is famous for the tree climbing lions to increase our chances of spotting the shy wildlife cats, Afternoon safari and a picnic coffee break on the Ishasha River as you watch schools of hippos and monkeys swinging around trees
Early morning safari to spot more wildlife and later continue to the Bwindi Impenetrable Gorilla forest in the afternoon as you enjoy breathtaking landscapes around the Kigezi highlands and beautiful sunsets over the Gorilla forest.
The long awaited day is here as you will enter the jungle and penetrate the impenetrable forest and meet the gentle mountain gorillas in their beautiful home. You expect to move with packed lunch boxes from the lodge because the trekking is unpredictable; it could be long or short depending on the movement of the gorillas. We shall then drive to the second deepest lake in Africa after our gorilla trekking experience to relax on the free waters and reflect on the jungle memories.
Transfer to Kampala/Entebbe and have a stopover at the equator in Kayabwe for a photo session and souvenir shopping as we drive back home.
